It was an early morning wake-up call to a magical destination. The entire ferry ride was rainy and stormy, but that did not seem to matter because along the way the life in the ocean seemed to come alive, especially the northern diving petrel, native to New Zealand.
We arrived and docked at our destination. Then it was off to discover this incredible and magical island, until a local Maori told me about a pristine and beautiful beach. I could not pass up that opportunity despite the weather conditions, as I have a special affinity to the ocean. So of course, I ventured to see the pristine beach. Not only was she beautiful, the white sand guided you directly to this small rock island. Shaped like a snail in the middle of the beach under the stormy grey clouds with just enough light highlighting and accentuating its shape. It was a breathtaking view, as I stood there being hammered by the rain.
